I'd like to host a Surfline camera, what do I need to do?

We're always looking for new camera locations. If you're interested in hosting a Surfline camera at a property with a great view of a surf break, send us a request through the "Apply to host" form. Our team will respond quickly to vet your location and discuss next steps.

Can I suggest a location for a Surfline camera?

We always welcome suggestions for camera hosts. You can send us a suggested host by filling out the "Refer a host" form. We appreciate any connection you can make to the property owners to increase the chances of us working together.

How can I get a Surfline Sessions camera at my local spot?

You can fill out the "Refer a host" form to suggest/request a camera at your local spot. If it is located in a region that we are staffed to support, we will do our best to secure the location requested.

Can your webcams be installed outdoors?

Yes, all of our cameras have outdoor protection rating so that they can withstand harsh weather conditions.

What is needed to activate our webcams?

All you need to do is connect them to a power socket and a standard internet connection to broadcast live images across the globe through our website. All cameras run under a host agreement that can be e-signed via email or mobile; someone from our team will get back to you with all details and the next steps.

Is ordinary maintenance necessary?

The only regular maintenance required is cleaning of the camera lens; the frequency of cleaning may vary depending on the season and region where the camera will be installed. Occasionally, the camera may also experience downtime that requires a person to come onsite to resolve. Our team will provide advanced notice prior to coming onsite for any reason.
